What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

1. A media conglomerate, media group or media institution is a company that owns large numbers of companies in various mass media such as television, radio, publishing, movies, and the Internet.
2. In my opinion our opening title sequence would be distributed and produced by a small, independent British film company, because it has been created on a very low budget the big 6 are very unlikely to distribute this media product. In my case studies I am writing about film 4, because of the knowledge I have gained from this I feel it would be ideal if they also distributed mine.

4. Film 4 would be perfect to distribute my film because there ethos is to promote British films using British actors and to be made in Britain. My opening title sequence ticks all of the boxes. One day a week film 4 is required to promote and show British films only, this could be perfect for my film to be shown on this day.
5. Film4 Ethos - To develop British talent and be a leader of innovation in the British film industry. To invest £500000 on average per film and produce 20 films per year.
6. Film4 is available on many devices and feel that it is very important to involve synergy and media convergence.

Convergent technology is technology that allows an audience to consume more than one type of media from a single platform.

In my own opinion film4 would be perfect to distribute my film because of the amount of platforms the own and how they like to promote British films, mine being one of them. Although film4 like to promoted drugs, violence and sexual scenes in there films our films contains none or very little of this. This would make our film stand out because ours is about a "lost" soldier who is trying to find his wife and get back on the path of life.

Although film4 do not usually make or distribute films that become multi million pound block buster sales they do make films that prove to be very popular in Britain and mainly England. If our films was to become popular enough and was able to grip a nation we could lea on to produce a 2 or even a 3 dependant on how successful it was.
