Evaluation
Within the preliminary task we showed match on action well, with the clip of myself opening the door and the close up shot of the door handle moving where I open it. We also showed shot reverse shot well by going from the shot behind Josh's shoulder, to behind my shoulder as they took it in turns to speak. We also connoted the 180 degree rule as when I walks towards the table after coming through the door he still appears on the right side of the frame and we did not cross the 180 degree line.
I do believe that we did meet the brief as we showed you all of the required shot techniques and we filmed everything that we meant to within the brief, which included a myself opening a door, crossing a room and sitting down in a chair opposite another character with whom he or she exchanges a couple of lines of dialogue.
When filming the only parts that I found difficult was setting up the camera over the shoulder because it was mainly covering the screen. We over come this as a group by tilting the camera slightly downwards and also levering it right above the shoulder. It was also difficult trying not to get too much background into the shot compared to the amount/size of the person in the shot. Finally it was difficult to get the characters head in the correct position inside the rule of thirds.
Another part that we found difficult was that because we had filmed over a couple of days we turned up in different clothes, this meant that the film looked improper and not as good as it could be so to overcome this we made sure on the days we where filming that we wore the same clothes and tried to make our hair look the same to ensure a quality film. We managed to replicate the footage we had before as well as add some new parts, which improved our clip from the previous filming.
By doing this task I became very familiar using the editing software Premier Pro. I also know how to edit the clip and make sure the film runs smoothly through out the film, this is very important as it would look unprofessional and make us look like armatures. I will look more closely at where everything in the shot is positioned when it comes to filming again so the rule of thirds is applied in each scene.
